Broncos Step Up to Show Kindness and Compassion

This October, FBLA is recognizing two Amherst students, Weston Salter and Hudson Walvoord, who recently demonstrated what it means to be a Bronco through a simple but meaningful act of kindness.

Following a recent cross-country meet, several community members reached out to us to acknowledge these two Amherst students. During the high school girls' competition, a young lady from another school was struggling to complete the race and eventually collapsed on the course.

Hudson and Weston immediately went to her, asked if she was okay, and offered her water. They remained with her and made sure she was not alone until adult help arrived. While this may seem like a simple gesture, it demonstrated genuine care and concern for another person. They saw someone who needed help and responded without hesitation.

Hudson and Weston demonstrated kindness, compassion, and good character, and their actions are a true representation of what it means to be a Bronco. Thank you, Hudson and Weston, for representing Amherst and our community.
