FBLA Officers posing before attending Fall Leadership Conference

On Tuesday, Sept. 22nd, the FBLA officer team attended the Fall Leadership Conference held at UNK! Throughout the day they attended workshops where they received fresh ideas, learned strategies to build leadership skills, and brought back new perspectives to bring to the Amherst FBLA chapter and the entire student body.

A major highlight was hearing from Patty Hendrickson. Patty is a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) and award‑winning leadership keynote speaker known for her high‑energy, interactive programs that inspire people to take action, build momentum, and focus on what matters most.

During a reflection on the day, every officer agreed that Patty’s message was the most impactful and inspiring part of the day. The opportunity to learn from such an experienced speaker was truly meaningful, and the lessons from the day will continue to guide FBLA throughout the year.

The officers' key takeaways included the truth that true leadership is about influence and impact, and not a title or position. It means taking responsibility, engaging with others, making people feel valued, and empowering them to succeed. Leadership can happen at work, school, or home through the choices we make and the positive difference we create.

A special thank you to the state officer team for the time and effort put into creating such a great conference and for sharing so much throughout the day, and our Bronco family for supporting our FBLA fundraising efforts to ensure members have the opportunity to attend conferences.
